It all began years ago. Like many other consultants and trainers I was continually amazed by the constant challenge faced by industry in being able to attract, retain and motivate their sales force. Knowing that sales is truly the heart and blood of any business, there had to be a better way.
After fifteen years of consulting and training, working with small enterprises and Fortune 500 companies, and utilizing a multitude of sales courses and systems, I realized that traditional methods of attacking this dilemma would not work. What's required is a company bold enough to "break new ground". Business needs a solution that integrates business principles and practices into one cohesive system.
Through extensive research it became obvious that a traditional pen and paper system wasn't fast enough and wouldn't have the impact on the marketplace required to achieve the goal. As Wayne Gretzky said, “I skate to where the puck is going, not to where it's been”. I did not want to launch the business and be just another solution. There could be no doubt- we had to have the right vision before we started and…to know where the puck is going.
The sales problem cost companies far more than they ever published. A major document solution company spends over a hundred thousand dollars to develop each new representative. Their turnover? Between 40 and 70%. Their greatest challenge? Empty territories.
Companies need a solution that addresses the driving forces in industry today- a solution that is sustainable, affordable and produces measurable results.
New rules for sales training call for curriculum that is evidence based. There is a market need for rich curriculum that gives sales the regard it deserves and a learning system that meets the business drivers of today.
I've spent millions of dollars and 10 years identifying and developing best practices in sales. My research and experience indicated a need for a shift in how sales people were being treated. I saw an immediate and urgent need for a system that would guarantee the best trained sales forces in the world.
